In the
Mining Museum visitors can see what the mine is like before they go down. It comprises several buildings that were built around 1924 and include the following:
The former
compressor building, which was built to produce compressed air for the machines inside the mine, especially for the hammer drills. This building houses
the mining interpretation center and has several large scale models and a virtual browser with which visitors can visit almost any part of the mine.
The
workshop building conserves the machinery in the same state as when the mine was closed. The distance between Almadén and the main Spanish production centres meant that the mines had to be self-sufficient. This led to the creation of joinery workshops, a blacksmith's with its forge, as well as mechanics and electricians.
In the
management building visitors can see the
plan room.
