The Almadén mines are located in the southwest of the province of Ciudad Real and have been in use since ancient Roman times. This mercury site is the largest known site in the world.

The Almadén mines constitute a place of interest with notable geological, palaeontological and mining features that have made them unique the world over. Consequently, we intend to make the legacy we have preserved over many years available to all humanity so that it can be studied and visited and so that the coming generations can learn of our history.

No longer in use, consideration has been given to the transformation of the metallurgical mining facilities in the mining park of Almadén into an area for culture, education and quality tourism, where visitors can enjoy the magnificent scientific, industrial and technological heritage of one of the oldest mines in the world adapted to modern times.

The visitors centre is the reception and information area for the mining park.

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU !
